Our office is small and friendly, located right in Old Town Herndon. Our building, originally built in 1905, has been beautifully restored by Thomas Dellinger, President of Dellinger Wealth Management. One source is quoted as saying the house has never had a more caring owner. We pride ourselves on being an active part of the community and our employees are often found supporting local businesses around town.
I am a native of Northern Virginia, reared in the town of Vienna with twin brothers whom are a year older than me. I was raised by loving parents and taught through athletic upbringing that the team is more than the individual. Some of my best education was gained between the white lines on the baseball diamonds of my youth. I graduated from Oakton HS in 1974 and American University with a BSBA (double major in finance and marketing) in 1978.
I entered the financial services industry in March of 1979 and stayed with my initial firm until October of 1995 before entering the independent broker dealer channel with LPL Financial. My current long term plans are to remain in the industry with LPL Financial at our new Pine Street location (since June 2009) as long as my mental and physical well-being will allow.
The historic property in downtown Herndon is a short commute from my residence in Great Falls where I live with my wife Naomi, my in-laws, and their caregivers. We have a full household including our two dogs Luke (a boxer) and Maggie (an English bulldog). Kate recently (October 2011) moved to a townhouse nearby our office and is missed by all parties within Mill Run Drive, but most especially her grandparents.
My goals outside the industry are to build a baseball field in honor of my parents and a limited bed nursing home for the aged who have nowhere else to turn, in honor of His work in my life. In the interim, I want to live each day to the fullest with no regrets on the balance between my career and my personal life with my family.
I embraced long term contrarian value based investing many years ago and more recently have incorporated long term care and estate planning into the practice to a greater extent. Placing LTC and estate planning at the top of our priorities are invaluable to our client base. I feel strongly that wealth distribution and wealth preservation are just as important as wealth accumulation.
My hobbies include reading (especially biographies of historical figures), walking the dogs at River Bend Park and other Great Falls trails near our home, studying Scripture application, baseball trivia and statistics along with baseball sports collectibles, interval endurance training at our home, and watching amateur athletics being taught to our youth within our community (even sometimes joining in).
Bob comes from a large family of 6 boys and 6 girls. While in high school, he became fascinated with the stock pages in the newspaper, and so, with that interest, went to West Virginia University and graduated in 1980 with a BSBA in Finance and Investments. He put himself through college as a painter and a carpenter’s helper.
Bob entered the investment business in 1982, where he first met Tom Dellinger at a small firm. He only stayed there 6 months, leaving to become a stockbroker at Legg Mason, where he worked until 1989.
Bob then left the industry physically, but never emotionally, working 16 years with a promotional products firm. While working at this company, he always kept in touch with Tom, and would recommend him to his clients, business associates and friends.
Bob was a member of the Dellinger Client Advisory Board in 2004-2005, and while a member, Tom invited him to join his practice and he accepted.
Bob is married to the most wonderful woman in the world and has been for over 20 years. They have 5 children.
Kevin has been an independent LPL Financial Advisor with Dellinger Wealth Management since 2007. Prior to joining the Dellinger Financial team Kevin spent twenty years in the mortgage banking field, where he owned and managed several operations that were all built successfully on referrals.
Kevin’s knowledge in the lending arena is extensive, and through his years of lending he has witnessed the greater need for better planning, diversification and protection of wealth. His credentials include Series 7, Series 63 & 65 (through LPL Financial) and Insurance Licenses. Dellinger Wealth Management and LPL Financial offer a platform that will allow Kevin to continue to serve his clients in their best interest.
Born at Fairfax Hospital and a native of Northern Virginia, Kevin graduated from Chantilly High School in 1981 and earned his Economics degree from George Mason University in 1986. He currently resides in Hamilton, Virginia with his wife Susan and their dog Brody.
